Wrigley Building Blue Hour...

Storm clouds break up over the Wrigley Building and the Chicago river on a beautiful November evening. The first air conditioned office building in Chicago, construction on the Wrigley Building started in 1920, when there were no major office buildings north of the Chicago River and the Michigan Avenue Bridge. The 30 story south tower was completed in 1921, stands 425ft high, and houses the iconic clock at the top that has faces pointing in all four directions. The North tower is 21 stories and is connected to the south tower by two bridge spans, one on the 3rd floor and one on the 14th floor. The buildings design was inspired by the Giralda tower of Seville's Cathedral and is clad in glazed terra-cotta, which provides its iconic gleaming white facade.
North Branch in B&W...

This view of the north branch of the Chicago River is hands down one of my favorites. Its a great view of the financial district of Chicago which includes building such as the Willis Tower (It will always be the Sears Tower to me...), UBS Tower, Beoing Headquarters, and the Civic Opera House. On this morning, the distant sounds of L-Trains crossing the bridge in the distance broke the silence every few minutes while storm clouds shrouded the massive Willis Tower from view. I waited patiently hoping the clouds would break enough to see the tower and finally after about 30 minutes or so, the clouds broke. I only had about 5 seconds or so to capture this image before the storm clouds once again blocked her from view.
Michigan Ave...

Armed with the new Canon 1DX and a Canon 45mm Tilt-Shift 2.8, I hit the streets this morning to run some tests with Canon's new flagship camera. It was a quiet morning and the streets were empty which is why I really love shooting in the early morning hours. On this morning, temperature was perfect and the light clouds in the sky made for an amazing soft orange light just after sunrise.
Skyline View from the Rush Rooftop...

I had the pleasure of shooting an engagement session on the rooftop of Rush Hospital this evening with an amazing colleague of mine Misty Winter. The clients were pretty awesome and since the light was so beautiful and I doubt Il be able to gain access again anytime soon, I had to grab a shot of the skyline...!!
Blue Chicago Sunrise...

What can I say? After mother nature's beautiful display of color yesterday, I had to wake up early and try today!!! I guess it was wishful to think we would have back to back amazing sunrise's... I did snap this quick pic while out there this morning, but it was nothing like yesterday that's for sure!!

Note: If you look closely in the upper middle of the sky, you can see The constellation Orion!!!!
North Branch Chicago River Sunset

A friend of mine recently moved into a new condo with this amazing view in River North. Last week, he invited me over so I could shoot the Venus Transfer and after seeing his new place, I new I had to come back when the conditions were right to capture a sunset with my wide angle lens. I have been watching the conditions over the past week, and yesterday seemed like a good day to give it a try. Anyways, here is said view just before sunset yesterday.
Pink South Loop Sunset...

A beautiful pink sun sets over the south loop in Chicago, Il. I was at home working the website, when I noticed this amazing pink light outside. I grabbed my camera, opened my window to see this amazing pink sky, and grabbed a few pics. It was pretty awesome!!!
18th Street Spring View

Springtime clouds break apart after some gale force winds pass through Chicago.
Funky Playground

The new 31st Street Harbor in Chicago is filled with all sorts of new amenities including this awesome new playground. This playground boasts all sorts of curvy funky lines and objects to play on. The ground is made of rubber and is soft so if you fall down it will absorb some of the impact and not hurt so bad.. It even has a really huge slide and a climbing wall!!! Makes me want to arrange a game capture the flag!! Whos in?
