Cloud Gate in B&W...

Cloud Gate is a public sculpture crafted by Anish Kapoor and is the centerpiece of Millennium Park in Chicago, Illinois. Completed in 2006, the sculpture is nicknamed "The Bean" because of its bean-like shape. The Bean is made up of 168 stainless steel plates welded together and has been highly polished so that their are no visible seams. It is 33 by 66 by 42 feet and weighs roughly 110 tons. Believed to have been inspired by liquid mercury, the sculpture's surface reflects and distorts the city's skyline at a number of different angles. On the underside is the "omphalos" (Greek for "navel"), which is a concave chamber that warps and multiplies reflections similar to a fun house mirror. Even with its relatively brief history, "The Bean" has quickly become a top tourist destination and an iconic landmark to the city of Chicago.
