A Stuffed Chimp...

Kikyo, an 8 year old Chimpanzee at the Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary in East Africa relaxes after a healthy meal of passion fruit, jack fruit, papaya's, apples, green beans, and carrots. Ngamba island is one of the most amazing places I have ever been to. Located 23 km offshore Lake Victoria in Entebbe, this 100 acre forested island provides a safe haven for 48 orphaned chimpanzees that are now free to roam their island thanks to the project leaders at Uganda Wildlife Education Center (UWEC). Its truly an experience that I will never forget and one of the only places in the world that you can view chimps so closely their natural habitat. We spent the past 2 days on this remote jungle island paradise; Living in a tented camp without running water. Interacting with the Chimps and also viewing the islands many species of exotic wildlife was definitely a life changing experience.
