Epic Colorado Sunset

I had just won the Doug and Annie Johnson Photographic Art Award from the Artist Association of Northern Colorado for my photograph "Sunrise at the Rocks" when I stepped outside to get some fresh air. The AC was broken and with around 200 people in the CoCoa Gallery, it was extremely hot in there to say the least. I looked in the sky and saw some dramatic clouds rolling in and I realized sunset was just 10 minutes away. I quickly said thanks yous and good byes and then ran to my rental Jeep. I hurried as fast as I could to find a workable composition! I probably disobeyed many a traffic law en route but I finally found this empty cow pasture and witnessed this breathtaking sunset!!! I couldnt have asked for a better evening!!!

City Methodist Church has been been abandoned for over 3 decades. It cost 1 million dollars to build back in 1926 and was a successful congregation until 1974 when poor attendance forced a committee to hold a meeting to determine the fate of the church. They decided to relocate and close the church as of January 3rd, 1975. It has sat abandoned ever since. Its future remains unknown...
